On April 3, 2024 PSPF held its 13th annual Volunteer Appreciation event on the patio of the historic O’Donnell Golf Club. The well-attended event at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains was paired with a beautiful evening and great catering by golf club chef Massimo Orru. Much of the evening’s conversation was animated by news of PSPF being honored with a 2023 California Governor’s Historic Preservation Award.
On March 18, 2023 PSPF held its 12th annual Volunteer Appreciation event on the patio of the Eight4Nine Restaurant & Lounge. The well-attended event included adult libations, tasty hors d’oeuvres, and lively conversation all enhanced by a perfect Palm Springs evening.
On March 30, 2022 PSPF held its 11th annual Volunteer Appreciation event poolside at the historic Smoke Tree Ranch. (Volunteer Appreciation events were canceled for 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic.) Adult libations, complemented by delicious hors d’oeuvres, were followed by a lecture on “The Evolution of the Modern Chair ” presented by PSPF board member Brad Dunning. The well-attended event allowed PSPF volunteers and board members to socialize and catch up on the latest preservation news. April 26, 2018 PSPF held its ninth annual Volunteer Appreciation event on the patio of the O’Donnell Golf Club. The spectacular venue afforded beautiful surroundings and vistas to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres provided by club caterer, Weiss & Walsh Catering. The well-attended event allowed PSPF volunteers and board members to socialize and catch up on the latest preservation news. On March 20, 2015 PSPF held its sixth annual Volunteer Appreciation social in the historic Tennis Club Neighborhood, returning to the Dean Davidson-designed home of PSPF board member Jim Harlan and spouse Tom Early. We thank our hosts for providing the wonderful venue for this well-attended event.
On March 28, 2014 PSPF held its fifth annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a Wexler & Harrison-designed modernist home in the El Rancho Vista Estates neighborhood. The social occurred on the heels of a great 2014 Modernism Week which dominated the conversation. We thank our gracious hosts, PSPF president Erik Rosenow and his wife, Ashley, for providing the wonderful venue.
On April 26, 2013 PSPF held its fourth annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a Palmer & Krisel-designed (and Alexander Construction Company built) modernist residence in the Sunmor Estates neighborhood. The warm Spring evening beckoned attendees to stroll the beautifully landscaped grounds. We thank our gracious hosts, PSPF board member Vince Williams and Dominique Vythelingum, for providing the wonderful venue.
On June 2, 2012 PSPF held its third annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a modernist home in the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood designed by architect Dean W. Davidson in 1965. During the event a brief presentation was made to PSPF volunteer Barbara Marshall for her many years of dedicated service to PSPF. We thank our gracious hosts, PSPF board member Jim Harlan and Tom Early, for providing the wonderful venue.
On May 14, 2011 PSPF held its second annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a hip Wexler-designed modernist residence in the Deepwell neighborhood. PSPF board member emeritus Don Wexler was on hand to talk about the house and socialize with PSPF volunteers. We especially thank our gracious hosts, Ron Regina and Bart Broome, for providing the wonderful venue.
On May 1, 2010 PSPF held its first Volunteer Appreciation social at a super-hip modernist home in Rancho Mirage. The Italian-themed hors d’oeuvres and great conversation made for a special event and gave PSPF board members and volunteers an opportunity to socialize, share ideas and discuss upcoming PSPF events.
