Volunteer News

On March 22, 2017, PSPF held its eighth annual Volunteer Appreciation event on the patio of the Ranch House dining room on the historic Smoke Tree Ranch. An open bar was complemented by delicious hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Ranch's talented chef. The well-attended event allowed PSPF volunteers and board members to socialize and catch up on the latest preservation news. We sincerely thank the Ranch staff and PSPF advisor Tracy Conrad for helping create yet another special evening for PSPF's committed team of volunteers.

On March 10, 2016 PSPF held its seventh annual Volunteer Appreciation social poolside in the Kiva Room on the historic Smoke Tree Ranch. Cocktails and cava were complemented by delicious hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Ranch's talented chef. We sincerely thank the Ranch staff and PSPF advisor Tracy Conrad for helping create a special evening for PSPF's committed cadre of volunteers.

On March 20, 2015 PSPF held its sixth annual Volunteer Appreciation social in the historic Tennis Club Neighborhood, returning to the Dean Davidson-designed home of PSPF board member Jim Harlan and spouse Tom Early. We thank our hosts for providing the wonderful venue for this well-attended event.

On March 28, 2014 PSPF held its fifth annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a Wexler & Harrison-designed modernist home in the El Rancho Vista Estates neighborhood. The social occurred on the heels of a great 2014 Modernism Week which dominated the conversation. We thank our gracious hosts, PSPF president Erik Rosenow and his wife, Ashley, for providing the wonderful venue.

On April 26, 2013 PSPF held its fourth annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a Palmer & Krisel-designed (and Alexander Construction Company built) modernist residence in the Sunmor Estates neighborhood. The warm Spring evening beckoned attendees to stroll the beautifully landscaped grounds. We thank our gracious hosts, PSPF board member Vince Williams and Dominique Vythelingum, for providing the wonderful venue.

On June 2, 2012 PSPF held its third annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a modernist home in the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood designed by architect Dean W. Davidson in 1965. During the event a brief presentation was made to PSPF volunteer Barbara Marshall for her many years of dedicated service to PSPF. We thank our gracious hosts, PSPF board member Jim Harlan and Tom Early, for providing the wonderful venue.

On May 14, 2011 PSPF held its second annual Volunteer Appreciation social at a hip Wexler-designed modernist residence in the Deepwell neighborhood. PSPF board member emeritus Don Wexler was on hand to talk about the house and socialize with PSPF volunteers. We especially thank our gracious hosts, Ron Regina and Bart Broome, for providing the wonderful venue.

On May 1, 2010 PSPF held its first Volunteer Appreciation social at a super-hip modernist home in Rancho Mirage. The Italian-themed hors d’oeuvres and great conversation made for a special event and gave PSPF board members and volunteers an opportunity to socialize, share ideas and discuss upcoming PSPF events. We especially thank our gracious hosts, Kim and Joe Zakowski.
