|In November 2-4, 2001 the Palm Springs Preservation Foundation celebrated the “Great Alexander Weekend” in Palm Springs. In conjunction with the weekend, PSPF published a tribute journal entitled When Mod Went Mass: A Celebration of Alexander Homes. The Great Alexander Weekend and tribute journal brought to the public a much broader appreciation of the seminal role played by the Alexander Construction Company in the creation of Palm Springs’ “built environment.” It also brought to the forefront the architectural importance of the Alexander-built tract homes designed by architects like William Krisel and Donald Wexler.
